This is the army of Antiochus the Great, whose career we know mostly from accounts of his defeats at Raphia and Magnesia. However, between the two defeats, he conducted a campaign against the Parthians which was successful enough to earn him that “Great” tag, and inspired him to up-armour his heavy cavalry to cataphract standards (the Companions being left slightly lighter than this). These proved quite capable of riding a Roman legion down in at Magnesia.
