Each Bonus HC unit purchased must also have a Bonus LC unit purchased with it. This represents the light mounted bow/javelin armed followers that accompanied their chief or lord into battle. Arab HC must be accompanied by Arab LC. The reverse is not true. Saladin's Guard Cavalry is exempt from this requirement.
Designer Notes: The high initiative represents Saladin and his leadership abilities. I believe that this would be necessary to allow the army to fight a Later Crusader army as the Ayyubid units are generally weaker.
