Western Late Roman 300AD to 350AD

While perhaps not as tough as the infantry of previous periods, the Roman infantry was still respectable in battle and the Palatina added a great deal of flexibility to their capacity, being able to operate in open formations or as part of the battle line. In the former case they are not given as key troops to encourage resolute use of them. Assume they disperse after a period delaying an enemy rather than die.

Some archers skirmished and some are reported as being able to form up to the rear of the infantry. This is covered in the list.
