Early Kingdom of Bohemia c.900 AD - 1200 AD

This list represents the armies of Bohemia from approximately 900 AD until approximately 1200 AD. During this period, the Premysl dynasty ruled Bohemia as autonomous rulers and Dukes under nominal Frankish, Ottonian and Polish suzerainty. Bohemians (Czechs) have historically been considered the most westernized of all of the Slavic peoples, later adopting a version of the Latin alphabet. Germans had lived in Bohemian lands prior to the Slavic migrations, and continued to do so. Additional Germans began to migrate East in the 9th Century as artisans, missionaries and warriors, and this trend continued and increased over time.

The Bohemians often fought both for and against their powerful Frankish neighbors, with King Boleslav I fighting a war against Otto I in 950 and then fighting allied to Otto I in 955 to halt Magyar encroachment at the Battle of Lech River.
