For an introduction to Eblaite civilization circa 2500 to 2250 BC

Carved representations of soldiers, found in the Palace G of Ebla, depict a strong similarity with Sumerian solders, except for the use of composite bows by light troops.
The same palace G had a "Chariot hall" were chariots and weapons were stored. Chariots were pulled by onagers and likely had the same Sumerian design.
Literary sources indicate that the army was organized around a bulk of foreign mercenaries, well paid, supported by land levies.
