Indigenous Iraqi and Iranian Armies under the Il-khanids

This is intended to simulate provincial Iraqi and Iranian armies during the early Il-Khanid rule - particularly that of Hulegu and Abaqa but inclusive of Arghun, Ghazan, and Abu Said. These provincial armies included those of the Qutlugh-khanids of Kirman, the Salghurids in Shiraz, the Karts of Herat, and Chagatid remnants under Negudaru. These armies mostly fought internal wars for territorial aggrandizement, wars that they were ordered to fight on behalf of the Il-khans, and conducted raids in Hindustan. From time to time, they also fought against the Mongols with Shams al-Din Muhammad Kart defeating more than one Mongol punitive expedition.

Many of the accounts report that the Il-khans sent horses, armor, and weapons to the provincial armies when ordering them out on campaign. I infer from the persistent reports of gifts of weapons to the provincial armies that these armies were short of the same resulting in a lower heavy division rating and a lower FV for the LC with no FV 5 HC. Due to the numerous panegyrics to Shams al-Din's militant performance, I have included the possibility of one FV 5 HC in the Kart army but required that Shams al-Din be attached to it at all times.
