Notes
Livy records that the Romans were contemptuous of the Etruscans but also feared them for their large numbers. The main tactic was a single attack by the infantry in one line and despite all comments to the contrary the Etruscans gave the Romans a good fight until flanked or worn down by lack of reserves.
