This list covers the armies of Christian Spain up to the official fall of Granada in 1492.

The Caballeros never became as formidable in the charge as French, or English Knights, the majority having lighter armour and lances than other nations, often using lance over arm and throwing lances and javelins. Some attempt was made to match these opponents by the Royal Household and mercenary knights were often retained to increase the strength of the cavalry. Native troops did not like to dismount and if Household dismount, they are assumed to be Allied or Mercenary troops.

The Almughavar became a famed mercenary type outside Spain, and were noted for being ready to stand against infantry as well as cavalry.

Freyles (Men of Holy orders) were often assigned to command infantry units. Other Holy order infantry may be represented by painting normal infantry in the requisite colours. Note: These were never available in numbers sufficient to field a viable army of their own in this period.

Pictures of X-bows show them equipped with the belt claw method of reloading.

French allies may never be present with Almughavars.

All French Allies must be bought or none

Handguns were present in significant numbers and are shown in close order in paintings. Those wishing to depict these for aesthetic purposes may exchange the figures in Hermandad units for handgunners. Sadly, there remains no way of depicting the effect of the guns in the rules as they now stand.
