Notes

The sources for this list are the Strategikon plus Procopius, Theophylact Simocatta, and archaeology. Maurice tells us about the Slavs skirmishing and hiding in lakes because that is what is different and remarkable about the Slavs. However, the Slavs take on Roman armies in head to head fights too, hence the warband option. As light warband are good in woods it enables them to work with the LI. It is thought that several tribes e.g. Serbs and Croats had Sarmatian aristocracies. The bows are from archaeological evidence where numbers of arrowheads have been found.
WB are BP 3, move 9 inches.
Terrain 1 Marsh (OK rough ground) options up to five from 3 GR, 3 SH 2 RG, 4 SH.
